| The original
Truck Night at Yankee Lake is now in its 6th season with
sponsor Miller Lite. Truck Night at Yankee Lake is owned by Penn
Ohio Promotions, Inc. and is operated by individuals with over
75 years of experience in the entertainment, trucking, excavation,
and monster truck industries. The event takes place in the bed
of a drained 55 acre manmade lake that was established in the
1920’s by the Jurko family, which has owned and operated
successful businesses on the property for over 80 years. |
| Truck Night is conveniently
located between Cleveland and Pittsburgh on State Route 7 in Brookfield,
Ohio just minutes from Interstates 80 and 11. Taking place every
Friday evening, May through Labor Day with special events
throughout the season, Truck Night at Yankee Lake has an average
attendance of 4,500 spectators that are entertained by over 400
trucks and jeeps participating in events that range from show
and shine contests, mud pits, truck tug-of-wars, rock crawls,
swamp tracks, log climbs, hill climbs, mud bogs, mega hill climbs, a 3 mile off-road
trail and an obstacle course. |
| Truck Night at Yankee
Lake hosts several entertainment acts including monster truck
demonstrations, truck and tractor pulls, the Miss Truck Night
contest, tug-o-war competitions, fireworks, etc. The event’s
additional attractions include national vendors such as Hillbilly
Brand clothes and accessories, live tapings of Trucks Gone Wild,
weddings in the Git-R-Done chapel (which has aired on Country Music Television's "My Big Redneck Wedding"), mechanical bull riding, rock climbing
and bungee jumping as well as games, concessions, and a live celebrity
disc jockey from one of the various regional radio stations.

| Spectators and
participants travel from over a 300 mile radius
from states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to
attend Truck Night on a weekly basis. During
special events participants come from as far away as Indiana,
Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina, Canada, and New York. Visitors have come from as far
as Arizona, Florida, California, Hawaii, England, South Africa,
and Australia. Participants trailer their trucks and jeeps
in every week to enjoy the 4x4 enthusiasts’
ultimate playground and try to win money in our famous
‘Deep Mud Pit,’ which has climbed in prize value to
as much as $1,500. |
| Truck Night is a
family oriented event that focuses its attention on attracting
families and entertaining children in a safe and fun environment.
Every precaution was taken to meet the requirements of both the
EPA and the national insurance underwriter for care of the environment
and the safety of both the spectators and participants. Local
law enforcement is on hand to monitor the crowd, and insure the
safety of all involved. |
| Yankee Lake has
been the home to many successful events over the years including
record hops and dances in its 20,000 square foot ballroom with
acts ranging from Glen Miller and Cab Calloway, to Ike and Tina
Turner and Marvin Gaye, to concerts with crowds of over 10,000
for national recording acts such as ZZ Top and Willie Nelson,
and David Allan Coe.

The current site of Truck Night has
been a successful swimming hole as well as a motocross race track,
and has now evolved into the popular truck event that keeps spectators
and participants coming back for more every week. |
